Error updating in AcademiX GNU/Linux

the Issue

Google Earth app issues “public key” and these days we receive the following update error:

┌─[root@academix2.4]─[~]

└──╼ #apt update

Err:12 http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb stable Release.gpg

The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 78BD65473CB3BD13

All packages are up to date.

W: An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb stable Release: The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 78BD65473CB3BD13

W: Failed to fetch http://dl.google.com/lin…/earth/deb/dists/stable/Release.gpg The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 78BD65473CB3BD13

W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

For this reason, which persists for some time, AcademiX GNU/Linux will remove the google-earth-pro-stable package from the sources list, as will be seen from the proposed solution.

the fix

Use these three commands as root:

┌─[root@academix2.4]─[~]

└──╼ #apt-key del D38B4796 && apt-key del 7FAC5991 && apt-key net-update

# The output will be OK

OK

OK

rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-earth.list

apt update

All packages are up to date.

No errors, no warnings… that’s fine.

I hope I was helpful.
